Dear Media Buyer:

PALAESTRA - devoted to sport, physical education, & recreation for
individuals with disabilities.

Become acquainted with our award winning PALAESTRA MAGAZINE by reviewing the information below. Because of your interest in those with disabilities, we trust you will find our mission and commitment to excellence worthy of consideration for your next advertising investment.

The premier issue of PALAESTRA was published in October, 1984. Shortly thereafter, copies were presented to a meeting of the Committee on Sport for the Disabled (COSD, now U.S. PARALYMPICS) of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). PALAESTRA was well received, earning their unanimous endorsement, and since then has been published in cooperation with the USOC. In the spring of 1991, PALAESTRA received further endorsement from the field from two fine professional organizations: the Adapted Physical Activity Council (APAC) of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and the American Amputee Foundation (AAF). In 1998, APENS decided to give a subscription to each newly certified Adapted Physical Education Specialist. In 2005, both the U.S. PARALYMPICS and the Lakeshore Foundation decided to give PALAESTRA to their memberships. We see these moves as significant acts of faith in a fine publication, as well as alignment of our three specialties with their respective national organizations.

An article published in the Adapted Physical Activity Quarterly, September, 1998, by Dr. Greg Reid, analyzing 66 worldwide publications on sport and physical activity for those with disabilities, ranked PALAESTRA number one in the field, and recommended it as must reading for anyone wanting to stay abreast of the developing adapted physical activity scene. Finally, we appreciated the confidence Tuesday's Child placed in PALAESTRA during the summer of 1999 when it selected this publication as its choice to fulfill its remaining commitments to both subscribers and advertisers when, regretfully, it closed its doors, thus greatly expanding PALAESTRA's readership.

As the publishers of PALAESTRA, we guarantee distribution to subscribers and prospective subscribers reaching every State. Readership is 50-60,000. Further exposure to thousands more interested in the area of disability may be obtained through a linkage on the PALAESTRA website.

Please join PALAESTRA as it serves a growing, enthusiastic audience of consumers with disabilities, professionals, and parents who are active in the growing sport and wellness movement. Put your company's ads where your customers are...in the magazine that they know and trust. Whether you need to market a product or show oneness with the physically challenged community, let PALAESTRA work for you...it has the audience!

We look forward to helping your firm reach its marketing potential.

Sincerely yours,

David P. Beaver, EdD
Editor-in-Chief
