With this in mind, author Francis Kozub encourages programming by adapted physical educators sensitive to needs of children's families. A Study of Guide-Running Techniques for Children Who Are Blind
Research has shown children who are blind possess lower levels of physical fitness than sighted peers, and yet these children expend more energy during activities of daily living. Inefficient gait patterns during walking and running contribute to this problem. 2001 Pan American Games for the Blind
Held in Spartanburg, South Carolina, these exciting Games are covered in text and pictures by Lauren Lieberman and Amanda Tepfer. Over 250 athletes from 17 different countries competed from May 29 - June 3 in goalball, track & field, and swimming.
